Yesterday’s News
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.
Everything’s happening right now.
Never a matter of if or when
No time to gain or to lose.
Visions are memories,
Déjà vu is yesterday’s news.

Hmm… not sure whether you’re agreeing with me or sending me up.
I kinda like to think it’s the former!
agree totally, of course! You are my most faithful and helpful commenter! 🙂
(commenter sounds so clinical! How about “my most faithful and helpful writing blog friend”?
Aw, I love that description. Thank you 🙂
‘Déjà vu is yesterday’s news’. What a wonderful phrase! Did you come up with the phrase first and build the poem around it or did it evolve as you wrote the poem?
it’s an evolution, Tony. I’m happy to say my experiment to promote writing without the inner critic and filters seems to be working. The old saying “If you want to be a writer, then write!” seems to hold true. I find that by not giving myself the option of an excuse to not write first thing in the morning has enabled me to explore writing possibilities with less angst. The poem is already written – I just need to remember it!
Thanks for sharing that process! Yes, I think because you’ve developed this daily regime, the creative part of your subconscious mind has programmed itself to work on the next day’s poem in your sleep and – as you say – it’s already there waiting to be coaxed out. Or, who knows, maybe by eliminating the inner critic you’ve given your mind the freedom to explore that old Cosmic Cosciousness unshackled, where it’s harvesting ideas and inspiration?
I kinda like to think it’s the latter 🙂
woo hooo! Here’s to unshackling cosmic consciousness everywhere! (Linda clinks her imaginary glass against Tony’s imaginary glass) 🙂
