Can't Put the Pen Down…

The Truth in the Cider

Truth is sometimes found
at the bottom of a glass
of apple cider,

where secrets bubble
to the surface and escape
to become desires.

and sensible plans
must defer to the longings
and dreams of the soul.

  1. Well, this is intriquing. What did you find at the bottom of the glass? Are interesting plans afoot?

I’ll drink to that! The haiku-structure of each verse gives it an ethereal quality that almost makes you feel you *could* ‘defer to the longings and dreams of the soul’. Ah, if only… (sigh)

    • well, the cider has worn off but the dreams remain so the practical plans are simply going to have to change! I’ll probably touch on this in future musings and missives… lol
