Can't Put the Pen Down…

My Daughter

In all the years
I’ve watched you grow
from my sweet baby girl
to a strong, proud woman
many things have changed.
But not your smile,
not the irresistible,
infectious giggle; deep,
rich, and totally spontaneous.
My daughter.
What did I do to deserve this honour?

Lovely. I have 2 daughters and I feel those very same emotions every time I think of them. The thought occurred to me recently that I hadn’t told them for a long time how proud we are of them and how much they’re loved so I got straight on the phone and did just that. Made me (and them) quite emotional. I can be a silly old bugger at times!

  2. Very well written!

  3. This is beautiful
