Can't Put the Pen Down…

The Fleeting Season

I
The honking wakes me.
Geese slice summer to ribbons
like Damocles’ sword.

II
Winter is the sword
suspended over our heads,
the autumn spoiler.

III
The fleeting season,
autumn glows in the last light
of a waning sun.

I like this one! The haiku form (of which you are definitely the Queen!) creates just the right mood for this piece. 🙂

  2. Love the imagery here, I missed reading your blogs but I certainly haven’t forgotten you. When I think of book clubs and writing workshops, sometimes I can’t help but remember the experience you described to me at my blog, so I’ve nominated you for The Very Inspiring Blogger Award!!
Thanks, Linda, for inspiring li’l ol’ me.

    Love,
    Lila
