Can't Put the Pen Down…

As You Sighed

I gave the full moon prisms and watched her
paint rainbows on your shoulders in the night.
Living tattoos of silver light sifted through
pendant diamonds and spread in sparks of colour
across the bed, slowly creeping
closer as you slept, like a lover
attracted to the warmth
of your body, the gems caressed your skin
and rippled as you sighed.

Ah, right. We have prisms in our window too but I’ve never seen them in moonlight because we draw the curtains! I need to get more romantic 🙂

Beautiful! Painting pictures with words. Did you see the ‘blood moon’ phenomenon over there? Not sure if it was worldwide or just UK . I was wondering if this was what inspired that lovely piece?

    • Missed it! too cloudy during the eclipse but it cleared up in the wee hours of the morning and the moon was very bright. We have prisms hanging in the window and the rainbows they cast with moonlight is very eerie and beautiful.
